Favourite current beauty products

My favourite current beauty products.

In the month of October as the season officially changed, I thought it would be a good idea to show you some of the products that I loved and still do throughout the month of October. There are only a few but I have truly enjoyed using these and want to share my thoughts on these with you.

Garnier Fresh Skin Cleansing Lotion

Very sadly I have used up all of my Liz Earl cleanser which is one of my all time favourite cleansers when it comes to removing make up. Therefore I needed something that would replace it in till I re-purchase it again. Looking through the counters at boots I noticed this product my Garnier. It was reasonable priced so thought I would give it at go. I put this onto a large cotton pad and started to remove my make up. It removed it off my face so easily, gently and quickly I was really pleased with how well it worked. The texture is really light weight and leaves the skin feeling super soft and clean. You can also use it on the eyes and it does on irritate it one bit. If your looking for a new make up remove I would highly recommend it.

Ted Baker body Spray

I've had this for quite a while now, specifically since Christmas last year. It came in a set with some other gorgeous Ted Baker products and for some reason have only recently just started using. I don't know why that is because the scent is absolutely stunning and is perfect for everyday wear. The scent it self can only be described as quite deep and sexy smelling. It's like having a mini perfume in your bag. I love it so much and have been using it all throughout the month of October.

Ted Baker is such an astonishing British brand you can always it trust to produce beautiful products.

Sanctuary Spa body lotion and hand cream.

Just like Ted Baker this brand is one of my all time favourite brands. I get them every year for either Christmas or my birthday and I get so excited when  I receive them. I've been using these two specially for a while now so thought I would spare my opinions on theses two lovely products. The first one is their body lotion which smell divine on the skin. It's perfect to use when you have just come out the bath or shower and want your clean body to smell perfect. It's very smooth in texture and leaves your skin feeling super soft. The hand cream is also one my favourites and instantly makes your hands stop feeling dry and transports them into mega soft hands.

Theses are all of my current beauty favourites of the month of October. I hope you have enjoyed reading about them and gives you some inspiration to try out some new products.

My top 3 Autumn handbags!

It's clear to see on this blog how much of a shopaholic and clothes lover I am. But as much as I love clothes, shoes and make up, there is one other accessory that I love even more and that is the great hand bag. A bag for me really pulls an outfit together. You could be wearing the most boring outfit and all you have to do is put on a colourful tote and the outfit instantly becomes something so much more interesting. It symbolises what sort of person you are by the type of bag you wear and how you wear it. A person who uses a tote placed in the middle of the arm expresses that there a well put together person who knows what their doing and where their going. Someone who uses a bag over the shoulder shows that the person is very relaxed and laid back who gets their belongings and heads out the door to wherever their going.
In this post today I've decided to show you my top three favourite bags for the Autumn season.

1- The go to. Asos quilted chain bag £15

The first thing I noticed about this bag was how much it looked like the Chanel boyfriend bag and then I saw the price at £15 and  brought it quicker than you could say Chanel hand bag. It's not the biggest in size but it's perfect for popping out and doing your errands. The quilted print makes it hard wearing and does not scratch or mark when in use. It sits perfectly across my body and is one of my all time favourites.

2- The work bag. Select £12.99

This is the bag I use everyday when going to work. It is literally one of those bags where you put anything and everything in it. Practically like Mary Poppins. It hold my useless rubbish that I carry around on a day to day basis . I wasn't in need of a new bag when I brought this but I was early for an appointment and next thing you know I've made another purchase. This bag is so hard wearing and even though it was quite inexpensive it has lasted me ages and has not got one mark on it. It has too sides with a large pocket in the middle and at £12.99 you can't go wrong.

3.The high end. Mulberry

I have spoken so much about this bag on my blog that I won't go on about it too much. This is the most expensive purchase I have ever made and it was worth every penny. My Mulberry is the bag I only get out on special occasions as I'm so scared of getting it damaged. It's such a classic design and brand that I no doubt believe I will be using this bag for a very long time.

Not everything can be perfect

Today I failed my driving test for a third time. I was so gutted that I didn't pass because I really thought I had a chance of finally passing and getting on the road myself. More than anything I was extremely frustrated because I failed on a particular part I wasn't very confident with and as soon as the examiner asked me to show him what he asked me to do, I knew I failed already. Either way I had to do, gave it my best shot but it was not good enough.

I'm over the disappointment now but it still hurts. If everything in my life was perfect I don't think I would be  as upset as I was. I have amazing friends, family and boyfriend but one thing aside from driving that still needs improving, is my job. I got this job just before I graduated from university so I could earn some money in till a job I want to be in comes up. I'm six months into my job now and I'm no where near in my dream job. Everyone says you have to be patient and keep trying but there comes to a point where you can't keep trying. But I know deep down I have to. The dream for me would be me having my occupation as fashion, beauty writer for a top magazine but I know how unrealistic that is. That's why I'm so glade we have platforms like blogger that allows armature writers to express themselves and show what they can do and what content they write about.

I hope that not too long into the distant future I will be in a position where I can say I love the job I'm in and that I can drive myself there too.

Highlighter

One of the most popular makeup products being used at the moment are anything eyebrow related or a highlight. Highlighters are one of those products that when you first start wearing make up isn't the one you pick up first. Normally it will be a lip product or foundation as the base of your make up. Highlighters are normally discovered later on in your make up experience. There are so many on the market at the moment on the high street or high end that's it's hard to find the right one for you. Some are quite shimmery whereas some just give a natural glow. I haven't been using highlighters for very long but I have found one that is truly amazing for a fraction of the price for most high end highlighters that are just as good if not better.

This product I found was from a brand called Revolution and it is called Revolution highlighter palette. Revolution is a brand I've not heard too much about but just from this one product alone I know there going to be really popular. They only have a limited range of products but in time I am sure they will continue to grow. One of the first things I did notice about the brand is that the prices are so affordable I could not believe the prices of some of their products. The only place I have seen that sell this brand is in Superdrug which is pretty accessible for most.

Getting back to the palette the price for this was £8 which I could not believe. It is so affordable for most and very easy to access. The packaging for the product is so sleek and hard wearing and a decent size, The outer part is black plastic with a large mirror inside. The palette contains three shades of powders one a translucent white, pearl shade and a champagne colour which is so pretty and suits any skin tone. They glide onto the skin so effortlessly and looks amazing on top of your makeup. The light reflects perfectly giving your face the perfect glow. If your looking for a new highlight this one should be on the top of your list.

Come a long way

Although were only in September and Autumn has literally just arrived, I'm already thinking about all the amazing things that has happened this year in 2016. For a long time not much was going on in my life and everyday just seemed like it was going round on repeat and to be honest I was starting to get bored of an everyday routine.

On new years eve last year at the pub with some friends just before the clock hit twelve I wished that this year would be different than any other. The last few years before then hadn't been the greatest with my parents splitting up and now that's all cleared up I was more determined that things were going to turn around in 2016.

It started off in March at my friends twenty first party where I meet my now boyfriend which I was not expecting in the slightest and am so happy in did happen. We have now been in a relationship for four months and I could not be happier.

Two months later in May me and my friend both turned twenty one four days apart and had a huge joint party with friends and family and everyone we know. It was my favourite party I have had since turning eighteen and I know I had a good time because I cannot remember any of it. Also in the same month I went to the one city I have always wanted to go to and that was New York. It was one of the best experiences I have ever encountered and would do it all over again.

Later on the year I found out some amazing news! One of my oldest friend who I have known since we were little is expecting her first baby. I was so happy when I found out and I cannot wait for the little one to arrive. She had her baby shower on Saturday which was so much fun with all our friends playing silly party games. And seeing her with her little bump made it all so real.

Another amazing thing that also happened this year was that I graduated from University with a degree in journalism. It was a long three years of hard work and studying but It was all worth it when I appeared on the stage holding my certificate.

Love is Luck

We go on dates and nights out in the hope of finding a partner, other half or companion. Someone we can spend our Sunday mornings with and come home to after a hard, long day at work. Every now and then we get in luck and someone half decent looking has asked us out on a date for a drink. We spend hours choosing what to wear from our never ending wardrobe, applying make up to our faces and styling our hair to perfection with the hope he may notice you've made an effort. Then he turns up not what you expected. His not even half  good looking you thought he was, he doesn't offer you a drink and his personality sinks and you never see him again.

You then start to think how many more of these dates do i need to go on in till i find Mr right? Sometimes you can meet someone and you automatically click and get on like a house on fire. For other people the more they spend time with that person the more they like them or dislike them. Sometimes i think finding someone you have true feelings for and generally really like who also likes you just the same is entirely down to luck. What are the chances of two people meeting in the same place, at the same time that just so happen to like each other? With social media and dating apps running our dating lives there are too many options for people to meet new people without really getting the chance to get to know each other that it's easy for people to shrug someone off as soon as someone better comes around.

Call me old fashioned but i am so happy with the way i met my boyfriend. I meet mine at a friends birthday party after she invited him so he didn't feel left out when she was talking about it to another friend in his presence. My friends egged me on to talk to him so i plucked up the courage and did exactly that and now six months on after that night we have been in a relationship for four months. Just before that party my friends were all as most people do have a nose on tinder telling me i such get it as it's such a laugh. Those things never really appealed to me and the thought of meeting someone through my phone honestly terrified me. Therefore i am so happy i kept off those apps and sites and find someone the old fashioned way face to face which in my opinion i was extremely lucky for.

New make up bits!

Every now and then a little voice in my head tells me to enter a shop and buy some beautiful new items. That may be clothes, shoes or a handbag. This time the voice in side my head told me to go into Boots and purchase some make up! That voice defeated me and before I knew it I was in Boots searching the counters looking at whats new and what I haven't got already. Although there wasn't anything I actually needed I only came out with three items which is pretty impressive for me. Therefore I thought I would do a small review for all three products.

NYX vivid brights
Only recently the make up brand NYX has come to stores in Boots in the UK so of course when I saw the NYX counter in my local Boots I was pretty excited and decided it would be a good idea to test one of their products. So many people say how good NYX is and thought I would try out a product that I've never which is a coloured eyeliner. I went for the shade vivid blossom which is a really pretty lilac that with my brown eyes and skin tone suited me really well. The brush is very thin allowing you to glide the eyeliner precisely and make it easier for a thick or thin line. These are really good if your someone who does not like bold eye shadow looks but still want a subtle bit of colour.

Soap and Glory Kick Ass concealer
I have been searching for something that will cover the dark circles under my eyes for ages and products in the past just haven't worked out for me. Then I saw this product and was so pleased with how well in brightened up my eyes. The product itself is like a chunky crayon and it is so creamy to apply under the eyes and makes it so easy to blend with a brush. I got it in the light shade so it gave that extra brightness.

Rimmel London Fix and Protect make up primer
When it comes to primers I'm not too fussed about what primer I use as i don't see it as an essential like foundation or mascara. But I had ran out of my Benefit pore fessional and saw this one by Rimmel which looked alright. It reminds me of sun cream in regards to the creamy, soft texture and the smell which I love. It blends into the skin so evenly and quickly it feels as if I m applying a moisturizer.

The Asos edit

One of my favorite past times to do in my spare time or on the weekend is to browse the many glorious clothing items and accessories on the Asos website or app. It's very quickly started to become my go to website to internet shop for anything from everyday basics to evening outfits. There are so many options for you to browse through including high street and higher end brands appropriate to suit any budget. I've been loving Asos so much that I've made about four orders in two weeks! Therefore I thought it would be a good idea to round up a few of my favourite items currently available on Asos.

Room tour!

I have been meaning to write this blog post for a while now. Ever since we moved into this house over a year ago I wanted to write a blog post showing how I've decorated my room. When I was little I was obsessed with programmes like changing rooms and 60 minute make over being very jealous of peoples newly decorated bedrooms.

A bedroom for me is a place I can call my own. A place that I can show my personality and spend time in reading books or watching TV. From the age of one to the age of fourteen I had to share a room with my younger sister which I hated terribly. She was so messy, didn't put her stuff away and I am the complete opposite. I love my things to go where I want them and for everything to be nice and tidy because I'm a clean freak like that. Which is why I take so much pride in my room because I can have what I like it in and be any colour I like.

In the past I've had my room painted either pink or purple no in between. Now i'm twenty-one I wanted something a little more grown up and something that is going to last me a good few years. So I decided to paint my room all white. It's such a safe colour to go with as it makes your room really bright giving the illusion of a bigger room. You can also add a touch of colour with the use of bedroom accessories. I went for a very girly feel with the use of pale pinks, flowers and pretty pictures.

Current make up routine

Every so often I like to change around what make up I put on my face in the hope that I will discover the perfect combination of products to put onto my face. Well this time has finally come and the products I have been using for everyday use has been in my opinion the best one yet. Don't get me wrong I love trying out new bases, eye shadows and mascaras because there are so many varieties of make up products to use that the best one for may not be out there yet.

Since I've started wearing make up more regularly the type of products I use has changed considerably. I never thought I would be using a brow brush but having thick, pigmented eyebrows is such a huge trend that I could not go without.

These here are what I've been using on my face for a while now and since coming back from America I have discovered new and exciting products that I cannot go without.

  • Benefit Pore Fessional
  • Rimmel London match perfection foundation
  • Maybelline fit me concealer
  • Mac mineralize powder
  • Benefit Gimme brow
  • Maybelline master sculpt
  • Rimmel London lasting finish santa rose
  • Becca cream highlight moonstone
  • Soap and glory supercat eyeliner
  • Rimmel London super curler 24 hr
  • Urban Decay all night setting spray

Whats in my bag

When it comes to blogs or youtube videos with content that contains all things make up and fashion, it's made me become extremely nosy. I love knowing what random items people have in their handbags or what latest clothing items they've recently brought. It gives you an idea about how people live their lives and their general lifestyle choice. That is why I have decided to do a whats in my bag which features a very special bag which I absolutely love.

If you read my New York post you will know that I brought an item which I have wanted for a very long time and that is the Mulberry Lily medium. When I first went into the Mulberry store on 5th Avenue it was like love at first sight. I loved the size of the bag, the gold hardware and how it sat on my shoulder.

Contents include:
Burberry sunglasses
Polo mints
pen
Fearne Cotton cosmetic mirror
NYX lipgloss
The bodyshop lip balm in sheer butter
Victor and Rolf flower bomb mini
Ted Baker purse

Mini Haul

Today I had a day off work so took the opportunity to go and get my eyebrows done cause they were just awful and went into my local town centre. Next thing you know I'm done what I went in for and went around the shops. This is a bad thing for me cause I am one of the biggest shopaholic's going and may have brought a few items.
Therefore I thought it would be a good idea and show you what I brought.

Don't give up

One day it would be my dream to say to people I love my job. Not many people I know say that or have that said that in the past. It's very rare for people to actually like what they do, they leave school not knowing what they want to do as a career, they find a job that pays okay and end up there for longer than anticipated. I for one do not want that to happen. I want to be able to wake up in the morning, full of energy and actually look forward to my day. Not that I don't look forward to my day it's just that the job I'm at now isn't what I want to do for the rest of life.

I'm bringing this up now because the last few weeks of work have been more stressful than I can handle causing me to express many emotions in a short amount of time. I've cried, been in a panic and laughed all at once. I know everyone has there bad days at work but a few bad weeks is more than I can handle. I had such a bad couple of weeks that I felt look walking out and quiting right there and then. But then me and my boyfriend went away for a week and I relaxed, had a brilliant time and actually enjoyed my days out doing stuff and being my my boyfriend. I got back to work ( and touch wood) it all seems to have calmed down and not been too bad.

Although work now seems to be okay at the moment, that does not mean I will give up wanting to be a writer and filling the pages of my favorite magazines with words I wrote and pictures I took, writing about the exact subjects I could spend all day writing about. I wish that I could come back to this blog one day and say I write for Glamour or Look magazine or even have my own professional blog that I can say is my full time job.

If you have a similar or completely different dream to mine wherever that is job related, family related or you want to travel the world. Just remember not to give up on chasing that because although I haven't got my dream yet I will not give up in till I do.

Life Update

The last few months of my life have been a complete whirlwind for many reasons. Some of them amazing and some not so good, hence why I haven't posted on here in a while.

First lets start with the positives. I've finally met someone (relationship wise) who I truly, truly care about and like very much. I never thought for one moment i would find someone like him and am so grateful to have him in my life.

The second factor is that yesterday I finally graduated with a degree in journalism. It also could not have happened on a more perfect day being the hottest day of the year.Which is very unusually for England. I worked really hard for my degree and i am extremely proud of my achievements. Unfortunately this was overshadowed by family drama that I don't want to go into as it's a whole other story. This resulted in me waking up feeling sad and hurt when i should of been feeling happy and proud of what I've done.

I wanted to share this as no one should be made to feel like this on such a special occasion. It should be a time to celebrate all the hard work that has been achieved surrounded my family, friends and loved ones. Instead i was in tears and filled with hurt.

If there are people in your life that make you feel like this, then you need get yourself out of that situation and surround yourself with people who will provide you with happiness and love, not hurt or sadness.

Welcome to New York

Sitting here as i type this post from bedroom it is pouring it down with rain. And when i say pouring i mean literally causing a swimming pool to be created in the garden. Watching the water fall down hard onto the ground makes me wanna be back in sunny, warm New York, where the comforting feel hits my back as i stand in the middle of Times Square taking in the glorious atmosphere of enormous buildings covered in large screens of advertisement from high profile brands.

Just like myself the streets are filled with tourist from all over the world attempting to take selfies with their extending selfie sticks as the aroma of warm hot dogs fill the air from the van in the corner of the street. Adults dressed as children's characters from Disney films approach each person that comes their way asking for photos, while shoppers carrying their goods steer to avoid. Speaking of shopping which i did plenty off felt like no other feeling. I almost convinced myself i was Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City as i made the biggest purchase of my life. That purchase was an item I've wanted for a long and i never thought i'd be able to get it was the medium Lily Mulberry bag. The way it stood perfectly on the stand and the gold hard hard glistening in the light spoke out to me and i could not say no. I walked down 5th Avenue bag in hand with the biggest smile on my face.

Along 5th Avenue high in the skyline was the tallest building i have ever since. That building was the Empire state standing tall among st the rest shine in the warm sunshine. Me and my mum decided we had to see the views from the very top and made our way right up to the 86th floor. The views from the very top were completely amazing you can literally see the whole of New York.

My time in New York sadly came to an end but left with some amazing memories that i will never forget. At some point in my life i will defiantly want to return to the great city that never sleeps and recommended anyone who is thinking of making that amazing trip.

NO.21

As I type this blog post it will be exactly one weeks in till I am twenty-one years-old. Even saying that to myself is absolutely mad. But it is true and coming up very soon. It's a milestone in everyone's life to show that you are now a proper adult with a job and things to pay for. I wonder why they call it a milestone? Like we need to celebrate getting it this far in to our lives it's an achievement in itself.

Turning twenty-one means a number of things: 1- you're into the second year of your twenties, 2-you can legally drink alcohol in America and 3-you have freedom. Back in say the 1950's most women in their twenties had settled down, married and become a full town housewife. But now to be in your twenties in 2016 means enjoying every bit of freedom you have in your life. You can travel the world and experience life changing moments that you don't get when your married with children. Not that there's anything wrong with that. For me I will be celebrating my twenty-first with a joint party with my friend who is also turning twenty-one and a very exciting trip to New York city.

In celebration of turning this amazing age I've decided to wrote a post celebrating what was happening in the world twenty-one years ago in terms of music, fashion and sport.
Music in the 90's was all about the brit pop battle between Oasis and Blur as they fought the charts for that very important number 1. It wasn't just cool, indi bands making headlines but a girl group that go buy the name of The Spice Girls. With their individual styles and personality they brought a whole to world to the music industry.

In my opinion fashion in the 90's was brilliant. It allowed all people of any background to dress exactly how they want. Even to this day the same trends are all the range including; crop tops, denim and slip dresses.

Football had moved on from the hooligan days of rival teams in the late 70's and 80's creating a more safer, friendlier environment. Everton won the FA cup against Man u and Blackburn rovers won the premier league.

Rosie Huntington- Whitley autograph make up range

It's been a while since I've written a blog post and I apologise for being away for so long. So much has happened in the last few months that it would take me all day to tell you. In a nut shell I've just started a new job and I finish university very soon and have a lot of work to complete.

For this reason I thought I would start off with something fun, and easy going with a couple of new makeup purchases I recently brought. It's part of a range I've wanted to try since it came out in Marks and Spencer's, and that is the Rosie Huntington-Whitley makeup range for Autograph. There is a large selection and out of the range I chose the bronzer and crème blush in the shade camisole.

The first thing that caught my eye more than the product itself was the packaging. It's in this gorgeous rose gold, metal light packaging that reflects the light so nicely. Their in a compact size enough for you to travel with or to keep in your bag for touch ups. For a high street brand their a really great quality and feel more expensive than they actually are. Most of the compact products have a mirror inside making it a multi purpose product.

Starting with the bronzer I made the mistake of putting too much on my brush so ended up with a large brown smudge across my check so you only need the smallest amount. For my skin tone it's perfect but for someone with a paler complexion may found it too orange and dark. It just adds a nice, natural, warm glow to the face.

The shade of the crème blush is a very different colour to one I would usually go for but I really like how it looks on my skin. The texture as the name suggest is very crèmey and feels really soft on the skin. The shade is perfect if your going for a golden, bronze look. Again you only need a small amount and I use my fingers to apply and blend with the fingers also.

Overall I would really recommended these products. Their great value of money and excellent quality and I will defiantly be trying more of her range in the future.

Best of the Brits

Without a doubt the Brit awards is my favourite award show to watch on the TV. Every year I wake up with excitement knowing that the best show on TV is about to go live. It's full of the best music artist in Britain with an added extra of controversy and drunken celebrities.
In case you don't know the Brit awards is an awards ceremony that takes place every year celebrating the best of British music and live gigs. They started back in 1977 and have been going on ever since. The Brit awards are best known for it's anything can happen moments with the mixture of rock star band members and huge amounts of alcohol, making it one of the most watched ceremony's in the UK.

Yesterday was no different as the o2 arena pulled out it's red carpet to hand out the awards the stars have made an appearance for. To celebrate the best ceremony in the world I thought it would be a good idea to count down the best moments from the Brit awards 2016.

1- James Bay and Justin Bieber! These two could not be anymore different if they tried and yet with the Brit awards anything can happen. The Canadian born pop star teamed up with British, singer, songwriter James Bay to pull of one of my favourite performances from the night. The two sat on stage in front of a camp fire with James playing the guitar to Love Yourself, while Justin sang the lyrics. Justin then mashed the song by breaking out to sing sorry with a ring of fire around him.

2-One half of 1D. Ever since coming third on the X Factor, One Direction have always made an effort to attended the Brits as their nominated every year. But this year only two of the four members showed up which was Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne. Despite being on their hiatus the band took home best video making it their sixth Brit award.

3- Adele bringing girl power! It was pretty obvious that Adele was going to do well that nigh winning four awards but it was her speech during one of her acceptations that got us all talking. She took the opportunity to publically announce she was supporting American singer Kesha.

4-David Bowie tribute. Earlier in the year music and fashion icon David Bowie sadly passed away due to cancer. Therefore tributes was made by Annie Lennox and Gary Colman as they both produced a heart whelming speech to show their love and sadness for the great lost. This was followed by a beautiful performance from Lorde who sang is hit life on mars.

5- Little Mix put on a show. Another act produced from the X Factor that put on a show we will always remember. The girls put on an amazing performance that was full of energy and amazing dancing. By far one of the best performances from the night.

These five moments were by far the best from the night, below is a list of all the winners.

Best British female solo artist- Adele
Best British Male solo artist- James Bay
Best British band- Coldplay
British breakthrough act- Catfish and the Bottlemen
MasterCard album of the year- Adele 25
Best British single- Adele Hello

Fashion changes

Throughout my life the clothes I wear and my personal style has changed so much you wouldn't think it would be possible to have such different taste in clothing. When I was a baby my mum and dad dressed me (obviously) and they couldn't have dressed me any different. My mum would dress me in cute, pretty, pink clothing items that would make any person go awww. Then my dad on the other hand at the age of four dressed me in double denim, an Arsenal shirt and trainers. To be fair it was the nineties and all the cool kids were dressing the same.

Then when I got to my teenage years I do not know what I was thinking. Especially in the early part of being a teenager I remember wearing a floral dungarees dress that sounds nice but in pictures it looked anything but. I have no idea where my inspiration to dress came from, I think I just saw what I liked in a shop and went with it. I had no idea how to wear certain clothing items, how to accessories and what suited my body shape. I don't know if it was just me or if most people my age done this but for some reason I was obsessed with wearing denim shorts with a top tucked in. I mean what was I thinking?

Then when I got to eighteen I discovered YouTube and it changed the way I dress and were I shop forever. From their advice and guidance I learnt how to dress for various occasions and events. They inspired me to dress in a sophisticate and appropriate way for age.

YouTube isn't the only thing that has inspired my fashion sense, TV has also contributed to my sense of style and what I wear. One programme in particular has had a huge influence in the clothes I have chosen to wear and that is American, teen drama Gossip Girl. I loved the glamour and sophistication around the New York scene and the way they presented themselves. TV has such a huge influence on what the public are wearing it allows them huge power.

I would love to know what has influenced your fashion sense whenever that's from a TV programme or someone you saw out on the streets.

Job interview tips

Leading on from my previous post entitled "The Next Chapter", I am pleased to announced that I got called back for a second interview. I am so surprised and pleased that I am getting this opportunity to start a career for myself and to be in a place where I can work in a surrounding I am truly passionate about. It just goes to show that if you want something you go and get it. Don't let anyone tell you, you can not do it because if you believe in yourself you can achieve anything you desire to. That is why I have put together a few tips on how to have a successful job interview based on the experiences I had with mine.

1- Dress to impress. I know the way someone looks or how someone dresses shouldn't be taken into account when addressing someone's intellectual qualities but when you go for a job interview the first thing they see before you have even said anything is what your wearing and how you present yourself. Wearing an outfit that looks smart, appropriate but classy and trendy at the same time says that your ready to work as hard as you can and have impeccable taste in clothing.

2-  Be polite and shake hands with the interviewer. This may sound like something quite obvious and simple but doing these small but noticeable gestures can make a really good impression and shows that you have the skills to work with customers and other people you come across in your working days.

3-Make yourself interested in the company you are working for. When the person interviewing you is talking about the company you may be working for it's important that you have an interesting expression on your face. Smile and nod politely because if your sitting there looking bored then they will think you have no interest in the job at all and they need someone who is as passionate about the company than they are.

4-Do your research. When your preparing for your interview it's so important that you research the company and the job your applying for like the back of your hand. Just simple things like what their objective is, when they started and what duties your job role entitles. If your asked a question about them and you stare blankly it doesn't look good.

5- Last but on least be confident. I know it's hard to be nervous but if you can put all that behind and go in there like you know exactly what your doing you will blaze it. And just remember it's not the end of the world if it doesn't go well. There are many more opportunities out there for you to take and grab.

I hope these few tips will helped if you have an interview coming up soon or in the possible future.

A game of pure nerves

There comes a time in all our lives when we get nervous. We get this sick feeling in the pit of our stomach that stays there for a longer duration than we want. Most people get nervous during an important exam that could determine their next life choice and some get nervous before taking the long awaited driving test. I for one get nervous during a football game. And not just any football game but my team Arsenal’s football game. I want them to win so badly that I have felt physically sick. For most people reading this are probably thinking I’m being stupid and to get a grip, but I just cannot help feeling like this every time they step out onto the pitch. Any football fans out there reading this will understand what I’m talking about and feel the same pain I do every match day.

This isn’t something that has just recently started, I’ve been getting nervous since the first game I ever went to at Highbury (Arsenal’s old football ground) at the age of four in 1999, where my dad dressed me in double denim and brown boots. I probably get this frustration from my dad who has been an Arsenal fan and has been watching them for practically his whole life, and seeing him get angry and curse every word under the sun has rubbed off on me and caused me to sit there bite my nails and watch ninety minutes go by in till the referrer blows his final whistle. I’ve gone as far as hide in my room while a game has gone off just because I couldn’t look at the TV in case the team we were playing scored and we would lose. Nowadays I’ve learnt to control my nerves and to tell myself it’s not the end of the world if we lose.

This to me proves that football isn’t just a sport or a game between two teams, but a way of life which we resolve our days around. It brings people together and causes us to encounter all of our emotions in just ninety minutes. When the team you follow win a game such as an important one like The FA cup the feeling is like no other. You could be watching it at home on the TV, in a pub or at the game itself, the atmosphere is an uproar of happiness that can only be described at Christmas and your birthday rolled into one day.

Tough love!

This coming Sunday is the one day of the year where more roses and boxes of chocolate are sold than any other day of the year and men run around like crazy people trying to find the perfect gift for their other half in the hope they get something in return and that their relationship is still in tack after not booking a meal in time and end up with a take away and a rom com starring Jennifer Anniston.

I say this because I am single. So single that I haven't been in a relationship for nearly three years! This may not seem like a very long for some people, but for me it feels like an eternity. I'm not asking to be in a relationship, I'm very happy being with just myself and spending time with my family and friends. There are no arguments, unnecessary drama and you save a lot of money. Don't get me wrong I do get a tiny bit jealous seeing couples looking loved up as they post cute pictures on social media. Isn't that normal though? But on the other hand I can take a wild guess that they are not in cloud nine every waking moment. Behind the scenes there will be a pile of dirty washing on the bedroom floor and the girlfriend (or boyfriend) is having a nag at them.

Relationships are not all negative and full of shouting. Being together with someone you care deeply about brings a feeling of emotion that you don't get with most other relationships. It allows you to be with a partner who you could talk about anything too and share memories that in years to come you'll look back and think what a wonderful time you had.

So if you are like me this valentines day, you're single why not spend the day with the other people in your life who you love very much. People like your parents, grandparents or even a best friend. Valentines doesn't have to be all about a sexual relations partner but with someone or people who love you very much just the same.

The next chaper!

At this current moment we're in the first week of February. January as been and gone so far it seems like a distant memory with the start of a new month upon us. I may be stating the obvious but there is good reason why I'm letting you all know what month it is. The reason for this is because in three months and twelve days time I will have finished university. Three years of pure hard work, laughter and the occasional tears. This got me thinking just how far I've actually come in such a small amount of time. Way back when I was at secondary school I was a shy, quite, insecure girl who didn't think had anything going for herself. Now I'm more confident and ready to show the world what I'm made of.

In my last ever lecture at university my lecturer advised us that it would be a good idea to start applying for jobs or internships as in just a few months time thousands of students all over the country will be competing for the same job us and therefore need to get ahead in the game. So with this in mind I spend nearly all day applying for as many jobs as I could find, some were for a general receptionist and some higher in the career ladder as a PR (public relations). Didn't think I would hear much back when I received an email from a job that I applied for. It was a PR executive job letting me know that my application had been successful and that they wanted to see me for a interview. I was so excited and thrilled as I never thought I would even get a reply back.

When the day of the interview came around I was so nervous I had to try and remember what I was going to say to some of the questions that I may be asked. In the end of was in there for just over an hour and it went really well to what I was expecting. I was confident, dressed smartly and ready for whatever they were going to ask me. I won't hear back to see if I have made it to the next stage in till Tuesday. So I wont get my hopes up expecting them to hand me the job and just take whatever comes with stride and poise.

If you had said to me a year ago that I would be having an interview for a PR job I thought have laughed in your face. So if your feeling about sorry about yourself and keep telling your self that what you want in life to happen simply wont. Then your wrong because if I can get an interview for a job I wish to work in then anyone can.

New MAC pieces!

If you have read my blog before then you will know that I love MAC make up. It was the first luxury brand I was brought and have really liked all there products that I have used. Because they are a luxury item to me, I try and only use them on 'best occasions', so for parties or a night out with my friends.

Recently my mum and her husband went to Mexico on their honeymoon (lucky them) and brought me back some MAC goodies because there a lot cheaper over there than here in the UK. I was extremely grateful for their generous gift and could not wait to try them. I have since used the products and thought it would be a good idea to share with you what I thought of them.

The first piece of make up is from the Ellie Goulding collaboration. Ellie Goulding is my favourite singer of all time, so when I heard she was creating a make up range with my favourite make up brand I was so excited to try them out. The product that I was brought is the Halcyon days (named after her second album) full face kit. The product is a compact square shape with a mirror inside which is always handy then the inside slides across and there is a powder underneath. The top section of the product contains four squares of a light gold shimmer, a light brown shimmer, a cream pink blush and a dark brown cream. It is literally an all rounder. You can use it as a blusher, highlight, bronzer and eye shadow. I really liked the bronzer section of the product it's really nice for contouring and the blush adds a natural colour to the checks. I'm yet to try the powder so I will keep having a try. The compact is a nice square shape easy to put in your hand bag and r-tough which is why I like the fact you can use it for all aspects of your make up.

The next product is another new one from MAC and that is the retro matt lipgloss in the shade lady be good, which is nude pink shade. I absolutely love this! it applies really easy, the colour is the perfect match and it last for ages. I wore it for my mum and husbands wedding reception and I didn't need to r-apply it the whole night. It applies like a lipgloss with a applicator then dries at a matt lipstick. I would defiantly give these a go if you haven't already.
