Accecpting

I wasn't going to blog today but I feel with what has happened recently, I feel like I want to share my opinion on the subject. It was announced yesterday that  Zayn Malik decided to leave One Direction.

Having been in One Direction for five years it must have been one of the hardest decisions of his life. When he auditioned on the X factor in 2010 he had no idea what was to come. He had no idea that he was going to be put into a boyband that would soon become the biggest boyband in the world. They as a band have achieved more success than any of us would in a life time and I am sure he is extremely grateful for what has been achieved.

I have been a massive fan of One Direction since they were put together on the X factor, I've brought all four albums and have been lucky enough to have seen them live twice.

When I heard the news I was both shocked and at the same time not surprised. Only last week pictures emerged of him with another girl who was not his fiancée which resulted in him quiting the current world tour.

I completely understand and respect the decision he has had to make and I myself would not be able to cope being in the spot light like he was. I wouldn't be able to live my normal life while camera's were following me around when I went to the shops or while walking my dog. It was probably a good idea for him to have left  before not being able to cope much further.

Therefore I have accepted the fact that Zayn is no longer in band and that the other four members will continue as a four piece. I wish him all the happiness and success in the future and will continue to support One Direction with or without all five members.

my going out make up look

Following from my last post, I have decided to write a post showing the make up look I wear on a night out. On the rare occasion I did go on a night out, my make up look is slightly different to what I wear during the day. I wear a lot more heavier make up and tend to use higher end make up as I feel using these is nice to use on special occasions.

To start of with I make sure I have prepared my skin before hand by removing any make I might have had on before, washing my face, then cleansing, toning and then moisturise. This just ensures that your skin is nice and clean and clear of any dirt before applying loads of make up. Once I have done this, I will then use the Benifit Pore professional primer. This just even out your skin, evens out pores and prepares your face when applying foundation. It also makes your make up stay on a lot longer than using without. I will then move on to foundation. On nights out I will use the MAC studio fix because it is my favourite foundation for coverage and looks amazing on a night out. The next step is to use the Maybelline fit me concealer. As I've said before it isn't my go to to use for under my eyes but it does the trick in till I get a new one. Powder is next and I use the MAC mineralise just to sweep over my face to set the foundation on. I have to say I never used to be that bothered about bronzer but since I've had the Benifit Hollar which is my absolute favourite for contouring. It's the perfect shade for me and works really well for a night out. Now for blush it's another MAC product ahha. It's the blush in the colour warm soul. I got this blusher from my mum for my birthday either last year or for my 18th I can't remember. The lady who worked in MAC tried it on me and I absolutely loved it on me. It's a nice darker pink shade with a hint of shimmer. Last step for the face is to use a high lighter.  don't know too much about high lighters and didn't even know they existed in till a while back. When I saw the Benifit high beam (which is the one I use)  I thought it was a nail varnish because it was it a similar packaging.

Moving on from face and moving on to the eyes. They eye shadows that I use is a palette that my mum again brought me for christmas, (You may have seen this in my what I got for christmas post). And that is the Urban decay naked palette number 1. I knew I wanted one of these's before christmas so when we and my mum went to go and buy it I had a look at all three to see which one would suit me more. I concluded with the first one as the darker tones suit my skin tone more and I thought I would use these colour shades the most out of the rest. I do really like this palette. The colours and pigmentation are just one of the best but one negative about them is that when you apply the eyeshadow, some falls onto my face ruining my face make up. It's not a lot of fall but it is annoying. Next step is the eye liner. Now if you have read my post before you will know how much I love the soap and glory supercat eyeliner. It's easy to apply and stays on for ages. For mascara I tend to use a mixture but for this post I have decided to use the Benifit they're real. That is because it just does what it's suppose to do, it makes your lashes, darker, longer and more defined.

Last but not least is the lips. Just like the mascara I tend to mix it up a bit but for this look I have decided to go MAC in angle. If you saw my lips ahoy post you will know that angle is my newest MAC lipstick and it's just a really nice matt pink.

Happy birthday to bethany' beauty blog!

There may have been a major historical event happening today in the UK and around Europe with the return of the solar eclipse which happens not that often in one's life time. But today marks another event very close to my heart and that is the one year birthday of my blog "Bethany' beauty blog".

I started this blog a year ago today having gained inspiration from some of my other favourite beauty bloggers such as; Fluer De Force, Zoella and many more. I love the way blogging can give you so much freedom to write about anything that your passionate in and share them with many that want to read them.

Another reason why I started a blog was because if you don't know I study journalism at university and would love to one day write for a top, national fashion magazine. One day during one of my lectures, my tutor expressed to us and starting a blog or website is really at practising our writing skills and getting our work across to others who wish to read them. I thought this was a good idea and went home thinking what I could write about for my blog. It had to be something I was interested in and gave me plenty to write about. It the last couple of years i've really got into make up, beauty and of course fashion so I knew that was a good place to start. And ever since this day last year I hav'nt stopped. I absolutely love writing for my blog as well as reading others. Since starting my blog I've managed to gain over 600 readers! Which for me is a massive achievement. I never knew that my writing skills and ability could interest that many people. So I just want to say a massive thank you to anyone who found my blog by accident or have followed since the very begging. I promise to keep going with my blogging and hopefully by next year I'll be writing a blog for my second birthday.

Another thing I wanted to say was I'm not sure if the name "Bethany' beauty blog" is very creative. So if you have suggestions to what I could call it please feel free to comment below with your ideas.

Everyday make up routine

For this weeks post I decided to write about the make up I wear on a everyday bases. If you don't know I am at university three days a week so those are the days were I wear make up the most. The days that I'm not at uni and just working at home, I normally won't wear any just to give my skin a break, which I think is really important.

To start with I wear the Rimmel Match perfection foundation in the shade 200. This is probably my second favourite foundation behind the Loreal true match. It gives a great coverage and it doesn't look like your caked in product. For concealer, I tend to just use it to cover dark circles under my eyes as I don't get much spots or blemishes, (touch wood). I'm using at the moment the Maybelline fit me and if I'm being honest it isn't my favourite for covering dark circles. But that's just me. I prefer the Rimmel wake me up but I don't wont to be another one in till I've ran out. For powder I use most peoples favourites MAC mineralize which just does exactly what it's meant for. Moving on to bronzer I'm using the Bourjois chocolate bronzer which just gives a really nice natural glow without looking like you have tonnes of fake tan on. And it smells like chocolate. The blusher I'm using at the moment is another Rimmel product which is fairly new and that's the lasting finish soft colour blush in live pink. Although the product it's self is really small you get a lot out of it. It's just a really nice pretty pink and goes with any skin tone.

Staying away from the face and moving on to eyes I like to keep them natural as being at uni most of the week, I don't want to go in with a heavy eye. They eye shadow palette I'm loving at the moment is by Revolution called redemption palette iconic 3. This contains twelve colours some matt and some are shimmer. There just a mixture of pretty pinks and purples perfect for everyday use. I'm not just saying this but the soap and glory super cat eye liner is by far the best eye liner I have used so far. Partly because it's the only one I can actually use without going wonky or making a mess. It's just so easy to apply and I use it everyday so can't go wrong. Mascara at the moment is the maybelline falses which is just an all around great mascara. It lengthens my lashes really well and makes them look a lot more volumes.

The lip product I tend to go for on a daily bases is a lip gloss by natural collection in the shade vanilla. It's a clear lip gloss which is just gives a nice shine to your lips if you don't want much on them. Also it has this amazing smell of vanilla hence the make of the gloss.

Little Pickle

On Wednesday afternoon me and my mum went for a little lunch in a cafe near where we live called Little Pickle. (I know the name is so cute). It's such an adorable place i just had to blog about it. It's not the biggest place in the world but the small area makes it that bit more cuter and more intimate.

The seating arrangement is really creative  and they make the most of the space they have available. Part of the wall is made to look like a book shelf which emphasises that little cafe vibe. As well as all this have really cute little kitchen signs such as "how to make the perfect cup of tea or perfect Victoria sponge.

You can have anything from a sandwich, jacket potato or be really naughty and treat yourself to a slice of cake. YUM! From the pictures above you can see i had the tiniest cup of hot chocolate which was so so yummy and my mum had a nice cup of  English tea. The tea came in this adorable pot which looked like a witches cauldron on the snub of a tree.

I would really recommended going there if your looking for something nice and different to go to perhaps with your mum for mothers day.

Spring

Doesn't it feel like winter's been here for absolutely ages? It feels as if the only thing I've worn is my parka coat and black ankle boots. I'm starting to get bored of repetitiveness in my outfits but it's hard not to steer away just getting out a pair of dark, skinny jeans and some sort of baggy knit jumper. Don't get me wrong, i'm a massive fan of winter fashion but when it's been literally months of dark mornings and cold winds, i now want to switch it up and start wearing some more spring-like clothes.

And now finally it seems as if winter has gone for a good while now and the sun is finally starting to make an appearance which means spring is on it's way. If your not from the UK you might not know that the majoiety of the year, the UK is either cold or it's raining. So when we get the odd few days of warm sun we make the most of it.

Spring is such a lovely time of year. The grass looks greener, the skies are blue and beautiful daffodils start to appear in our countrysides. Here are a few images to get you in the spring mood.

lips ahoy part 2

Tuesdays's post was all about the lips and today's post is the same but this is lips ahoy part 2. I hope you like the name and not think it's too weird. The name just popped into my head and i thought it sounded funny so lets get started....

-Bourjois colour boost in fushia libra. I got this lip product quite a while and don't really use it that often. I should really because it's a really nice colour and does last a long time. The colour is a really nice pinky shade and adds a tiny bit of shimmer to the lips, making it the perfect product for a night out with your friends. It's also really moisturising and feels nice and smooth on the lips. It's in the shape of a crayon making it easier to apply.

-Natural collection lip gloss in vanilla. I'm going to be completely honest with this lip product. I only brought it because the smell of it is just amazing. You can probably guess from the name that it smells of vanilla ice-cream. I cannot get enough of this, i could just sit and smell it all day. Aside from the smell, it is a really nice lip gloss and although it is clear it does add a nice shine to any lip stick.

-Benifit hoola lip gloss. This product came with a set of Benifit make up products that i got for christmas. I know that there is the Holla bronzer but i did not know there was a lip gloss version. I don't use this as much as i should but i am going to make an effort to use this more. It's just a nice simple, nude colour lip gloss that looks really nice. Also because it's a travel size it's perfect to fit into your bag.

-Rimmel lip stick by Kate Moss in 01. I've had this lip product for a while now and it's probably the most daring lip stick i own. As i said before i'm quite scared of bright coloured lip sticks and tend to stick to natural shades. But every girl needs a red lip and i do wear it on nights out. It's a very dark red, quite like a vampire shade of red. It is a really nice colour and does last a long time you just have to be careful not to get it on your teeth which i have done a few times.

-MAC in faux. This lip stick was the second MAC lip stick i have brought. It's again a natural shade with  hint of a red tone. Like the other it's like lasting as like a your lips but better. I got this in duty free when i went on holiday last summer to Tunisia. Because it was from duty free it was a bit cheaper which is even better.

-MAC in angle. This is the last of my MAC lip sticks and it's a different colour to the other two. This is a really nice light pink colour which i have been wearing a lot lately. I got this as a treat to myself about two weeks ago and i'm so glade i did.

Lips ahoy part 1

For this weeks post I have decided to write a blog post showing you my lips collection. This ranges from lipsticks, lip glosses and lip balms. I never used to be a lips person when i was younger and hated the way felt on my lips. But as ive gotten older i absolutely love them.

-MAC in Brave. This was the first ever MAC lipstick i brought. I got it while i was on a trip on my first year of university. We were in London going on a Jack the Ripper tour and while we were on a brake, me and the other girls noticed a MAC store and literally ran towards it in excitement. It's a really nice natural shade which is matt and looks really nice for everyday wear.

-Barry m lip gloss. I have never brought a Barry m lip gloss before and heard really good things about them. I've always been a massive fan of their nail varnishes but never tried anything else. As you can see from my collection i tend to stick with more natural shades just because i'm not very adventurous. Unfortunately it doesn't say the shade or colour but from what you can see it's a nice pinky, pretty shade. It feels so nice to apply and has really nice staying power.

-Natural collection in sherbet fizz. This lip gloss is kind of similar to the Barry m one but a lot thicker. Which isn't a bad thing it's just a bit more sticky on the lips than the Barry m lip gloss. It's okay to wear everyone and then but it isn't my favourite.

-Loreal glam shine in rosewoord blush. This for me is the perfect lip product for a night out with your friends. It's a pretty pink shade with some shimmer in it which is so so nice. It says for a long time which is what you need on a night out and is the perfect size to carry in your bag.

-Loreal collection prievee by Cheryl. This lip product is one i am sure you all have heard of. A while back now Loreal brought out a collection of nude lip sticks made perfect for certain celebrities. Loads of well-known celebrites got involved and the one that stood out for me was the one by Cheryl .It's again a natural nude, pink colour which again i really like and it stays on for ages.

-Maybelliene sensational in peach poppy and Nivea fruity shine in peach. This combination of these lip products has been an absolutely favourite of mine for the past week, They complement each other so well and make my lips feel fruity, hydrated and moisturised.
