What to do during the summer holidays.

The summer holidays are very much in full swing which is why I came up with the idea of writing a post about what different things you could be doing during the six weeks of a much needed relaxation.
In England the summer is very unpredictable, one minute the weather will be really nice, sunny but not too hot then the next minute it's poring it down with rain. So it's really hard to plan anything when you can't even tell what the weather will be like. Therefore I am very jealous of anyone who lives in a country where you can guarantee sunny weather and some decent heat.
So here are a mixture of suggestions you can do with your friends and family during the summer holidays on a budget or not.

1- If you have finished school or college after months of hard work and a mountain of exams, the first thing to do is give yourself a sign of relief and just think it's all over. There is no more working out complicated equations or writing essays in till your hand gets cramp because that is officially done. You don't need to spend hours locked up in your room reading over and over the same book in till you know the whole story by heart. Nothing in that exam room can be changed so try not to stress or think about the results too much because you know you did the best you can do and no one can take that away from you.

2-Go to a museum or art gallery. This might sound really boring walking around looking at old stuff but most local museums are free and there might be something interesting you may just like. Even afterwards you and your friends could go into one of the cafes inside and sit with a coffee and have a good on natter. That way all you have spend is £4 at the most on a coffee and had a free look around something that might just surprise you.

3-Go to the park. There is nothing better than releasing your inner child and having a mad one at a park. This is another thing that you can go to for free and still have a good time. Have a ride on the swings, the slide and even the roundabout. Why not also take a picnic if the weather is kind to you. It doesn't have to be anything fancy just some sandwiches, crisps and of course CAKE!

4-Have a baking session. This is one of my favourite things to do in the summer holidays. If you ask your parents nicely, see if you and your friends can borrow the kitchen baking some delicious cup cakes. Be really creative and go as colourful and decorative as you like. It's yummy and great fun at the same time.

5- Sleepover or slumber party if your from the states. I use to have these all the time when I was younger. My friends would take it in turns to host the sleepover and we would have great fun. We would eat loads of sweets and stay up all night watching movies and talking all through to the early hours. We would also play a game where one of us was blind folded and we would all hide and the person who can't see would have to try and find everyone.

I hope all these idea's help if your starting to get a bit bored and need something new and different and don't forget enjoy the summer while you can.

My favourite products from Loreal

To me Loreal has always been the more luxury brand from the high street shops. Whenever I went into Boots or Superdrug  the stands stood all sleek and black made me think that only grown ups owned make up from that brand. Maybe it was the colour in packaging that made me think this theory. The combination of black and gold gave an expensive feel to the products giving me an inside feeling that I wasn't superior enough to wear make up from Loreal. With this in mind I stuck to what I thought were the more affordable brands such as Rimmel and Maybelline. As I got order I soon realised that Loreal products were just as affordable as the brands I had previously used and were just as good if not better. That's were I got the idea of writing a post sharing my favourite products from the much loved brand.

1. Loreal True Match foundation. Out of all the high street foundations I've used this is by my favourite. It's lightweight and glides onto the skin like silk. It's texture is really creamy which is what I like most about it. It gives enough coverage without leaving you with a cakey feel to your face and last a long time throughout the day, depending on what your doing. This is a really nice foundation for the day time as a everyday make up, something I wear to Uni or even if I'm just out in the town centre. I use the shade creamy beige and this cost £9.99.

2. Super slim super liner. I haven't been using liquid eye liner for very long so I haven't had much experience using them or using a variety of products. The first one I tried was the Collection fast stroke liner which I don't get on with at all. I can't use it without my eyes blinking giving me a wonky line. I see many people use it on YouTube but I just cant get the hang of it. The second one I've used is the Soap and glory super cat liner which I get on with every well. I find it easy to use and I can actually draw a straight line across my last line which is a mega bonus. The third liner I have used is the Loreal super slim liner. This is very similar to the soap and glory one in that their both easy to apply and their both pen like. I found I can go for every different looks either by going thin or thick. The colour of this is a super dark black so this is good if you like a thick, black line.

3. La Palette nude in Rose. I absolutely love this eye shadow palette. From the range of colours to the sleek packaging. This is a range of eye shadow palettes loreal brought out about a year ago and for ages I wanted to try one. They have a range of different colours and I picked the rose range. This comes with a range of ten gorgeous pink and purple colours from light to dark. It also has a mirror on the inside of the packaging which is always a bonus to have. I really like the packaging as well, It's sleek, black and compact enough to fit in your hand bag. The colours are really pigmented and glide onto the eye lids really easily and are easily blend able to create a smoky eye. Their really affordable as well so I would highly recommend them.

4. Loreal lipgloss. This is my most recent purchase from Loreal and the last product I am going to write about. This is one of their basic lipglosses. They have recently changed the packaging of this product which I really like. It's more square and more compact. Their long lasting and their really glossy on the lips when you apply them. They come in a whole range of colours to suit anyone. I have the colour protest queen which is a really pretty nude pink.

What makes a fashion icon?

When we go shopping or look through our wardrobe we see clothes and styles of a similar pattern. The items we are drawn to make us who we are and share the sense of fashion we find enjoyable to put on. But what or who influences us on what we put on our bodies?

There are many factors that contribute this decision and it starts early on in our lives. From the moment were born to probably the age of twelve our parents and family members chose what  they put on us, they are the people to portray ourselves for who we are as people. When I was a little girl my mum and dad dressed me up in till the age were I started choosing clothes for myself. My mum would put me in pretty, girlie, light coloured dresses and cute shiny dolly shoes. On the other hand my dad would dress me in a football shirt (Arsenal to be precise), jeans and trainers. Very different styles if you ask me. But in a way this was a good thing because it allowed me to be able to dress all girlie in skirts and dresses and then very laid back in jeans and trainers the next. And even to this day at the age of twenty I still love dressing in pretty dresses and then dressing down in a pair of skinny jeans. In a way my parents were my early influences in fashion and am lucky enough to have (in my opinion a very good sense of style).

As I started to get a little older I took to celebrities for tips and advice on fashion. My favourite pop starts at the time were Girls Aloud and Avril Lavinge. During the early naughties I wanted to look like my favourite pop starts, flicking through magazines or watching them on the TV analysing the clothes they wore, wishing I could look like them. Little did I know that most pop starts in that day had stylist picking items for them. I wanted the punk chick look of Avril and dreamed of owning a neon pink tutu skirt with a skull top and fish net tights.

By the age of fourteen I reached out a little further and discovered on-line retailers that would change the fashion game. I found clothing websites such as Boohoo and Asos and soon discovered that there was more to shopping than going down to your local shopping centre. It opened the doors to seeing completely different styles you didn't know existed.

Nowadays it doesn't have to be a celebrity to look up to for fashion advice, it could be a fashion blogger, a family member or even someone on the streets. As I've gotten older I go for clothes that I know suit my shape and clothes that I feel good in. A fashion icon to me now would be Victoria Beckham and Kate Moss. In stead of someone else being your fashion icon you could be the person that defines who you by starting your trend and creating your own sense of style.

My top five products from Rimmel London

Rimmel London is a brand I have been using since I first started wearing make up. They have a large range of products and there all reasonable prices. That is why I have decided to write a blof post showing you my five favourite products from the much loved brand.

1.Match perfection foundation- This is one my favourite foundations I have ever used. It's light weight, affordable and gives your skin an instant glow. You can build up the coverage depending on what you like but the product is pretty good at giving you coverage on the first application.

2.Wake me up concealer- I know Iv'e said this many times before but this is by far my favourite concealer. I just place it underneath my eyes and the darkness just vanishes.

3.Stay Matt powder- I have had this same powder for ages and it is only just starting to show the underneath, that's how long it last. Not only does it last a long time but it's a really great product. It makes your skin look so matt and helps to keep your make up in place and keeps shine away.

4-Sun shimmer bronzing compact- Before I got this product, the bronzer I was using before I wasn't getting along with very well so went on the search for a new one. Looking around boots I spotted this one by Rimmel and had never heard of it before so decided to give it a go myself. After the first week of using it I absolutely loved it and still do. It just adds a really nice natural glow and just adds warmth to your face.

5-Moisture renew lipstick in latino-This as the name suggest is so moisturising and the colour is gorgeous. It last a really like time and just feels amazing on the lips.

Tips for curly/frizzy hair

All my life I have had a love/hate relationship with my hair. It's been an ongoing battle since I started growing hair at the age of three years. At this tender age my hair was short, little ringlets and every time my mum brushed my hair in the morning's ready for nursery I would cry and cry. It hurt so much that my mum brought every single de-tangling product known to man. She used anything that would help my hair stop being so painful to manage but nothing seemed to work.

Then as I got older my hair grew longer and it was actually a nice style and length, easy for me to manage on my own. With all this mind I have decided to write a post giving anyone with similar problems to what I had or if  your stuck in limbo and not sure what to do some tips on how to make your hair the best it can be because as a girl I know how important having nice hair is.

1. Don't brush your hair dry! This one for me is the most important. With most hair you wake up in the morning and brush your hair. Nothing unusually about that. But if you have hair like mine brushing your hair dry is a bad idea. Brushing my hair when It's dry makes my hair look like a lion's mane. Not a good look! Instead I brush it only when It's wet after washing and after using the hair dryer goes to It's natural state.

2. Use a tangle teezer! These are literally a life saver for me. I'm sure everyone has heard of these amazing creations. There a make of hair brushes that gets all your tangles out with no pain or struggle at all. They glide through your hair like a hand to silk. If they had these when I was younger it would of saved a lot tears.

3. Spray your hair with water! My hair only seems to look decent on days where I've washed it. Then when it comes to the following day the curls in my hair don't sit right as they would if I had washed it. Now I can't be washing my hair everyday because it's bad for your hair, it loses it's natural oils. So I spoke to a hair dresser about my dilemma and she suggested spraying water onto my hair. So I tried it and it literally makes my hair look like I've just washed it. Something so simple as spraying makes such a big impact.

I hope these few tips have helped with anyone with the same struggles as i have and i hope you find them useful.

Why winter fashion is better than summer fashion.

Before anyone says anything, I love summer. I love the warm heat on my skin, chilling by the pool and the longer nights. I love how easy it is to put clothes together. You can wear something as easy as denim shorts, a t-shirt, kimono and sandals and it would look amazing. That's one of the great things about the warmer weather. Simple clothing is effective and works.

Having said all this, there is something about the clothing styles of winter that I just love even more. It seems silly writing about winter fashion in the middle of July but knowing in just a few months time I will be able to wear the amazing looks that winter clothes create just gets me a little bit excited. So I've picked the ten best reasons why winter fashion is better than summer fashion.

1.Angle boots- I absolutely love wearing these during the winter season. They're comfy, go with everything and there are so many different styles to chose from.

2.Chunky scarf's- There'a nothing better than wrapping a giant scarf around your neck giving you a warm, hugging feeling when stepping out into the cold, crisp air.

3.Layering- The winter months is a chance to really go out there and take advantage of the concept of layering. You could do this by layering a cardigan, a jumper and a scarf.

4.Fluffy socks- This is the only  acceptable time of the year were you can go all out on the craziest, patterned, fluffy socks without getting judged. Their warm and just really comfy.

5.Tights go with anything-Tights are such a great fashion staple. You can wear the clothing items of some summer clothing without having cold legs. You can wear them with a cute skater skirt or a long/midi dress. You simply cannot go wrong!

Maybelline master sculpt and Loreal super liner

While I was in the airport on my way to Tenerife, I had a few spare hours spare and decided to use my time wisely by visiting a boots store. I didn't buy too much just two products I had wanted to try since I first heard about them. The first one was the Maybelline Master Sculpt.

I was really intrigued by this product and was dying to try it ever since I heard about it in a magazine. It has quite a bulky packaging but it's small enough to fit in your bag. The product contains a contour and a highlighter. The bronzer is really nice light brown enough to create a shard line under your check bones to enhance a shadow. I haven't been able to use the contour much because I still have a tan on my face making it hard to show up but once my normal skin colour has come back I will be using it like no tomorrow.

I do really like the highlighter part of the product probably the most. It's a nice shimmer colour that looks so pretty on underneath the eye. Another good thing about this product is that it comes with a small brush appropriate enough to contour and highlight and a small mirror.

The next product I brought was the Loreal Super Liner. As I've said before I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with eye liners, purely because I'm not that great at using them although I am getting better. I do still like the Soap and Glory Super cat liner but I thought I would push the boat out and try something new. It has a small pen like nip which enables you too draw a precise line on the eye. I did my fist eye the first time I used it and it was a bit wonky but that was probably due to the fact I can't keep my eye still. Then I did the other eye and the line was more perfect that any line I have done before.

I really like this liner and I think the more I use it the better I will get at applying it.

My fashion icons.

I've wanted to do an update of this blog post for a really long time. That's because over the last few months the people I look up to in terms of fashion has changed during that time. That's not to say I don't like the fashion icons from before, it just means that with the change of season and variates of trends out, I've looked up to different people for inspiration.

The last people I had in my fashion icons post was Laura Whitmore and Cheryl. I still absolutely love their style and choice of clothes, there are now just some others who I am really liking at the moment,

The two people I have looked up to lately for fashion advice are model Kate Moss and fashion queen Victoria Beckham. This started after I watched the documentary about the nineties and since then I've been obsessed with the nineties trend that is popular at the moment. And what better people to look to for fashion advice in the nineties than Kate Moss and Victoria Beckham.

Wherever you love her or hate her Kate Moss knows how to put an outfit together and she does with no effort at all. It's simply effortless and simple yet effective. She can do from a see-through dress to flared jeans and a leather jacket without being weird or a fashion no.

Now we move on to my next fashion icon. Victoria Beckham. Husband of David Beckham, mother of four and a career to last her a life time. Going back to the spice gilrs era, she wasn't mush of a fashion follower. Then after they split she went fashion crazy. She's now one of the worlds most recognized person in fashion and a brand to match. Her style is chic, stylish, elegant, smart and monochrome. I love the way she makes out look like she has put time and effort into it even though their simple pieces.

I want to do prom again!

On this day four years ago I had my year 11 prom. I cannot believe It's been four years! It's just absolutely crazy. I remember the day so well. I woke up feeling so excited for the night ahead and looking into my wardrobe and seeing my new dress hanging up for all to see, made me want to put it on straight away. Then there was the getting ready. My favourite part about prom. I had my hair done by a hairdresser who came to my house to make my hair look amazing. Once I was finally ready I raced over to my friends house and we all stood in the garden looking like we were about to go a film premier. We had loads of photo's taken and were just gearing up for a good night.

Prom is such a strange concept because twenty years ago there was no such thing as a prom in the UK. Now all of a sudden they have taken the country by storm and now their a natural concept to have for the end of a school year.It also gives everyone a chance to say goodbye one last time before we go out into the big wide world and go on to do great things. That could be going to college, staying for sixth forum or going to get a job.

And now tonight is my little brothers prom which is just mad as I remember when he first started school and now his finishing. Watching him and his friends really made me want to re-live my prom day and see everyone I went to school with. Just to see what everyone is up to now and re-live my school days.

So if you have a prom coming up really make sure you make the most of the day and really enjoy yourself because one minute your putting on your dress or suit the next minute its fours later and all you want to do is do it all over again. Which is what I'm feeling right now. There's no greater feeling than wearing a gorgeous dress with all your friends before you go on and do amazing things.

Tenerife 2015

On Tuesday the 23rd of June me, my mum, her boyfriend and my brother and sister all went on a one week summer holiday to the beautiful island of Tenerife. The reason why I haven't written a blog post in a while. It was such an amazing holiday. Just really nice to get a week away to just chill in the sun, by the pool getting a tan. Which to me sounds like the perfect holiday.

The hotel we stayed in was called The Marylanza. It was such a gorgeous from the outside building to the rooms inside. I sheared a room with my brother and sister and was so surprised by the generous amount of space the room provided. There was a large living area with a TV, a small kitchen area with a breakfast bar, coffee machine and kettle. Then there was a separate bedroom with two twin beds and a dressing table.

The first two days were spent just chilling by the pool, having a swim and making good use of the all inclusive food and drinks and by the end of the first day I had burnt badly. With my skin being naturally olive coloured I don't usually burn that much but this time by shoulders, forehead and nose were bright red and sore. Lets just say there was a lot of cream being put on that night.

The food in the restaurant was so so nice. There was something for everything meat, potatoes, salad and pasta. The breakfast was a complete different story. There were doughnuts, pancakes, eggs, bacon and anything else you could think of.

The Friday was then spent at a water park called Sian park. Being a bit of a wimp I didn't go on any of the rides but mu brother and sister absolutely loved it. So much we went twice.

Is it just me or does a week away just fly by? Because all of a sudden it was the last day and were were on a plane back to England. It was such a lovely holiday and just really nice to lie in the sun and relax. But there's nothing better than being back in your own bed.
