That Topshop dress

If you haven't heard or seen this dress on every Instagram account going then where have you been? I first laid eyes on this dress on Hellooctober's Youtube account a while back. She had the black version with white poker dots. She paid it with the Gucci belt and I just loved it! It was me all over and everyone else was loving this also asking where it was from and where could get their hands on it. (Me included). She linked it below from the Topshop website but to no surprise it was sold out.

They then bought it out in a burnt orange colour also with white poker dots. As soon as I saw they had my size I snapped it up straight away. It certainly lived up to it's expectations when I wore it this Sunday to a Christning. With the month being October the burnt orange colour certainly gave some Autumnal vibes. I copied Susie (Hellooctober) and wore it with a look alike Gucci belt from Primark above my waist.  On my feet I put on some black, block heels from Newlook Iv'ed had for ages with my Chloe Faye bag.

From the Fashion Mumblr channel created by Josie, I discovered Topshop have also bought the dress out in a snake and paisley print.

My Current Favourite Things

I haven't posted in about two weeks so I thought it was about time I got my laptop out and started typing. To ease myself back in it again, this post will go through all the things I have been loving lately from beauty, fashion and TV.

To kick things off lets start with beauty. The first item I would like to mention is a lip balm. This lip balm is from a brand called Glossier. I've written about this brand before and to this day my love for them grows. Their simple, inexpensive products that word brilliantly for me. The scent I chose in the lip balm was the coconut scent as this and vanilla are my favourite smells. It's a really nice thick consistency that relieves the lips from any dryness and cracks. It makes my lips feels smooth and soft to touch. It also makes such a difference when applying any other lip products.

The second beauty product I want to mention is a bronzer from the Rosie Huntington Whitely range for Marks and Spencers. I didn't use this for a while but have recently gone back to using it. I forgot how nice it is. It's not too orange and gives the skin the perfect warm glow. The kind of glow you get naturally from going on holiday. The packaging is also beautiful with the rose gold and it also has a lovely big mirror which is  a bonus.

The third and final beauty product I want to write about is the YSL All in One Glow Foundation. I've been using this since June when I bought it at duty free from the airport. Since then it has become my favourite make up item. It does what it says, makes the skin glowey. It's not too heavey, it's such a light consistency although you can build it up for a higher coverage. All in all I love the way it feels and looks on the skin.

The second category I want to discuss is fashion. The first item on the top of my list is a leopard print coat I bought from Asos. I've wanted this print coat for a while but haven't managed to find the right one. That was in till I found this one on Asos and bought it straight away. It's to me the perfect leopard print as sometimes they look tacky or too orange. This one is the perfect length and goes beautifully with a pair of skinny jeans, turtle neck jumper and some ankle boots.

The second fashion piece is a mustard scarf. I bought this from Zara when I went to Oxford Street a couple of weeks ago. It looks really nice with the leopard print coat on those cold mornings on the way to work. The fabric is lovely and soft, brilliant quality and drapes over you really elegantly.

The last segment on this post it TV. I have been obsessing over a new programme called The Circle on Channel 4. This is about a group of people living in a apartment block in their own rooms. They communicate through a social media platform The Circle. The aim of the game is to become the most popular and that person will win £50,000. The twist is some people have become a cat fish and are not who they say they are. It's such a brilliant concept as it shows what people are really like on social media and what goes on in conversations. It's definitely worth a watch if you haven't all ready. Each episode is available on more 4.

That brings me to the conclusion of this post. It's only a small one but these are the only things I have been really loving lately. Come back and read my next instalment.

Getting Autumn Ready

There is nothing better than having a cosy, Autumnal day. Lighting a candle, wearing a soft knit jumper and putting the kettle on ready to make the yummiest hot drink. I may even go all out by saying putting on a Disney or Halloween themed film such as Harry Potter or Hocus Pocus. Here are a few things you can do to get you in the Autumn mood.

The first thing I do is create the perfect setting. I wash all my bed sheets and place my fluffy cushions and throw neatly on top. I spray my White Company Autumn scent home spray which contains notes of pear, quince and amber. I light my also White Company Seychelles candle which adds a sweetness to the room. I then put on a cosy, warm jumper. The one I've chose is this pink, bat wing jumper from Weekday and some black jogging bottoms.

Once  I'm all set up I put on Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. These movies are by far my favourite to watch at this time of year. It creates a dark (in a cosy way), magical atmosphere. I also make myself a hot cup of tea with maybe a few biscuits to dip.

This to me is the perfect Autumnal day. Nothing crazy going on, no jobs which need to be done. Just me, my bed, my favourite film and the window showing the cold, wet, deary weather. There are also other things you could do to get you in Autumnal mood. You could go on a peaceful walk, stop by the nearby pub and have some food. You could do a bit of baking and create some scrummy cup cakes or a lovely lemon drizzle.

I hope this helped with some ideas on those days where the weather is not the greatest meaning all you want to do is stay in side. Lighting the fire with the telly on there is really nothing better I would rather be doing.

Autumn Essentials

This time of the year is one of my favourites. It's that transitional period between Summer and Autumn. It's not warm enough to wear a t-shirt or dress on their own therefore a wardrobe adjustment needs to be made. For this reason I have decided to write a post showing those essential pieces that will get through the next month before jumper and coats come out of hiding.

1- The long sleeve t-shirt.
These are probably the easiest clothing items to add to your existing wardrobe. I have recently purchased a three pack from Asos these includes a black, grey and white. I have also bought two, long sleeve, cropped, ripped tops from Topshop, these work perfectly paired with high waisted jeans.

2- Trousers
If I'm being honest sometimes I get bored of wearing jeans and need an alternative to wear at work. These checked, tailed trousers from New Look are brilliant with wearing either the white or black long sleeve tops from Asos.

3- Skinny Jeans
Prior to what I've just said I do love a pair of skinny jeans. Their so versatile and go with everything. You can wear casually with a pair of trainers and then pair them up on a night out with some heels.  The newest pair to my collection are from Riverisland. I've been really impressed with their denim. Their not too expensive and fit really well. I bought them in indigo and black.

All the clothing pieces of mentioned I found are perfect for the month of September. It's not quite Winter yet were you would need to get your coat out, perfect something light to cover your arms is just right.

Night out essentials

Following up from my last post "Girls Night Out" I decided to write a post on the must have essentials to take on a night out. I don't go out very often so when I do I make sure I am prepared.

I take a small, cross body bag so I can place the strap over my head to ensure it is on me at all times. There's nothing worse than placing your clutch bag on the bar to find it's gone. Even if you turn your head for two seconds to tell the barman you don't want ice in your drink. I take a cheaper price bag in case there are any spills or it gets dirty in anyway, It's not the end of the world.

In my bag I have my money, bank card and notes in a coin purse/ card holder therefore they can't fall out lose in your bag. The lipstick I chose to wear so I can make those all important top ups. I also take a small bottle of perfume so I can have a quick spritz in between clubs and my hair comb as we all know what my hair is like in humid weather.

These two last items to me are the most important. People presume that the women's toilets are the most clean, but after 12AM it's a different story. I take some wet wipes in case the cubical your in has no toilet paper left. This is also good for removing your make up in the taxi on the way home so you don't have to remove it stumbling in the house at five in the morning. I also take hand gel for when there's that dodgy tap that water will not fall out from.

I hope these tips help and they have really helped me over the years. There's noting worse than needing something you haven't got or being in awkward situations that are out of your control.

Girls Night Out

One thing I have found which is really important for anyone is time with your friends. Everyone is so busy all the time with studying, work or family life that we forget to take time out and spend quality time with their friends. The people who you grew up with or met during school and university. Therefore when a night out was suggested with my friends I jumped at the chance. It doesn't have to be a night out. It could be out for coffee or a shopping trip. Time away from everyday life is what everyone needs now and then.

My favourite thing about going out is the getting ready. Choosing what to wear, organising my make up and deciding on what to do with my hair, even though I am sure to go for the same style every time. I made up my mind on an outfit a few days before. I chose a leather skirt, a emerald crop tie top with fluted sleeves and pink Valentino style heels. (Which I regret haha).

My skirt is French Connection, my top is from Miss Selfridge and my shoes are from Next.

For my make up I kept it very simple. I used a Becca primer to create the perfect base for the rest of the products. I used my favourite Georgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation which gives your skin a flawless glow. The Rimmel London Match Perfection concealer to cover the dark circles under my eyes and the Stay Matt powder to set everything in place. For my bronzer, blush and eye shadows I used the Charlotte Tilbury palette. A thick black eyeliner, Maybelline Temptation mascara, a Mac lipstick and The Obsession make up setting spray. P.S sorry about the lazy eye in one of the photos.

Too Early?

First of all I would like to say yes we're still in August and September is normally quite good to us, but is it bad I'm looking forward to Autumn and Winter. As much as I love the sunny days and longer nights, there's nothing better than getting cosy with a hot drink. I feel as well it gives people an excuse not to go out because "it's too cold and the classic I can't be bothered".

Another reason I love this time of year is the fashion. I enjoy the warm knits, knee high boots and dresses with tights. Autumn and Winter shopping is by far my favourite. I find it easier to dress. Black skinny jeans and a chunky knit can be thrown on, on a everyday basis.

The leaves start to turn a range of beautiful colours and there's a fresh, clean smell in the air. I can pop to my nearby Starbucks and grab a caramel latte before work whilst wearing a lovely pair of chelsea boots as they make a clicking noise along the pavement. It's the simple things that make a huge difference.

There are also two major holidays during the colder months. October holds Halloween meaning you can dress up as scary as you like, take a younger family member trick or treating, decorate your home for the best Halloween party. Then December comes and the greatest holiday of all time comes along, Christmas. It's such a lovely time of year. There's pretty lights across the streets and homes feel cosy and more homely than normal.

So If like me your excited for the next couple of months get your jumpers out of hiding and slap on those gorgeous pair of boots.

My Favourite Summer Outfits

For the first time in what feels like ages, It actually rained for more than five minutes. It actually felt quite refreshing having a little bit of rubbish weather just to compensate from the lovely sunshine the UK has experienced. It actually got me quite excited for the Autumn season. But before I say goodbye to Summer just yet I thought I would go through all the wonderful outfits I have loved wearing this season.

Glossier

Ever since Glossier landed onto the beauty scene I've had a desire to try their products. Before even using anything from the brand the packaging appealed to me. It's simple, pretty and pink which is my favourite colour. My desire to experiment with Glossier had risen once they stared to ship to the UK and beauty Youtube creatures raved about them. I decided to order a few products just before my birthday as I thought they would be really practical to take on holiday. The products came in a beautiful box with the items inside a pink zip up bag. I ended up going for the stage 1 skincare set. This included the Milky Jelly Cleanser, The Balm Dot Com and the Priming Moisturizer.

The cleanser is a clear texture with a gel consistency. It's really soft on the skin when applying and melts away beautifully. It clears your make up really well especially after a long day. It's also really nice as an everyday face wash. The lip balm has a hard texture almost solid like. Once on the lips it blends really lovely. It repairs any dry, cracked areas on the lips and keeps them moisturised throughout the day. You can also chose a scent, I went for the coconut flavour. The last product which is the moisturiser is probably my favourite of the three. It's thick, creamy and has a white consistency. It makes a lovely base before putting on your make up. It melts into the skin really quickly and leaves your face feeling really nice and hydrated.

Overall I'm really impressed with what I've used so far. I defiantly want to try more of their skin care range and even branch into the make up side. I'm quite interested in the serum and the stretch concealer. Please let me know of any recommendations and I'm sure I will be doing another order very soon.

Loreal Elvine Dream Lengths

Whenever I run out of my shampoo and condioner I get a little bit excited. That's because I get to purchase my favourite products. I've finally found a hair range that suits me and the needs of my hair. This range is from Loreal the Elvine Dream Lengths. It's designed to care and maintain hair of a certain length without having to have regular hair cuts. It illuminates dead ends and leaves your hair looking and feeling glossy.

When I was my hair I start off by using the Restoring Shampoo. Like the name suggest it restores your hair back to it's healthy state. I use a large pump in the palm of my hand and massage this into my hair rinse and repeat. I do this stage twice as I have very long, thick hair and find this makes a huge difference. I then move onto the Detangling Condioner using another large pump on my hand. I run this through the mid lengths and ends of my hair. I leave this to soak in for a couple of minutes and rinse out. Leaving this in for a little longer leaves your hair feeling a lot more softer.

Once my hair is washed and lovely and clean I use the No Hair Cut Cream. I use a small amount into my hand and massage into the ends of my hair. This adds a nice finishing touch to my hair before blow drying. Another factor I love about this range is the smell. It smells so sweet and the kind of smell you get from walking into a hair dressers.

A Simple Skincare

There comes a time where you have to throw your skincare products away. This time had arrived for me. You know when something needs to be thrown out. It doesn't feel right on the skin and it starts to to smell a bit funky. This gave me the perfect excuse to purchase some new skincare items. Now I'm not in a position where I can splash out on Clinquic or Estee Launder so I researched inexpensive, good quality products . The most obvious brand for me is Simple.

I decided on four products in total. I chose the vital vitamin day and night cream, the smoothing eye roll and the purifying cleansing lotion. It doesn't seem like a lot but I already have a cleanser to remove my make up at the end of day.

I like that the products smell fresh, clean and feel beautiful to apply. The one thing I would have liked to have is a serum which I don't think Simple do. However it is not the end of the world and I'm sure they will do one in the future.

If your looking for some inexpensive skincare, I would highly recommend Simple. Keep an eye out at Boots and Superdrug as they normally have offers in store and online.

My all time favourite foundation

After being delayed at the airport for a large number of hours, there is only one place that will keep you occupied. That place is somewhere I would say is pretty awesome and a location I could spend hours browsing. This is called Duty Free. For those who don't know, Duty Free is the part of an airport where you can buy many luxurious items, from skin care, make up, bags, clothes, sunglasses and perfumes. In Duty Free the tax is removed from all items making them a little bit cheaper. To be honest the price difference isn't that much difference, but if you are ever in an airport and thinking of making a purchase I would defiantly buy it there.

I purchased the YSL All In One Glow foundation. I had seen many of views on this on Youtube and on peoples blogs, there I was intrigued to give it a go. I have tried many different types of foundations since wearing make up and have never really found the perfect product for me. That was in till I bought this and have not stopped wearing in since. Like the name suggest it gives you an almighty glow whilst giving your skin enough coverage. It feels so lightweight on the skin and blends in beautifully. I like the way it feels on the skin and love the finish it gives at the end. The time frame for this foundation will properly only last with in till my shift an work but by the time I get home I do feel like it has melted off my face.

All in all I feel like this is a really lovely foundation. It has loads of different shades to suit everyone. In terms of price point I paid just under £30, which for a high end foundation is not too bad. Out of all the foundations I have tried, this one is by far my favourite. I will certainly be purchasing this again when it runs out but I have a feeling this is going to last me a long time.
