Night out essentials
Following up from my last post "Girls Night Out" I decided to write a post on the must have essentials to take on a night out. I don't go out very often so when I do I make sure I am prepared.
I take a small, cross body bag so I can place the strap over my head to ensure it is on me at all times. There's nothing worse than placing your clutch bag on the bar to find it's gone. Even if you turn your head for two seconds to tell the barman you don't want ice in your drink. I take a cheaper price bag in case there are any spills or it gets dirty in anyway, It's not the end of the world.
In my bag I have my money, bank card and notes in a coin purse/ card holder therefore they can't fall out lose in your bag. The lipstick I chose to wear so I can make those all important top ups. I also take a small bottle of perfume so I can have a quick spritz in between clubs and my hair comb as we all know what my hair is like in humid weather.
These two last items to me are the most important. People presume that the women's toilets are the most clean, but after 12AM it's a different story. I take some wet wipes in case the cubical your in has no toilet paper left. This is also good for removing your make up in the taxi on the way home so you don't have to remove it stumbling in the house at five in the morning. I also take hand gel for when there's that dodgy tap that water will not fall out from.
I hope these tips help and they have really helped me over the years. There's noting worse than needing something you haven't got or being in awkward situations that are out of your control.
Girls Night Out
One thing I have found which is really important for anyone is time with your friends. Everyone is so busy all the time with studying, work or family life that we forget to take time out and spend quality time with their friends. The people who you grew up with or met during school and university. Therefore when a night out was suggested with my friends I jumped at the chance. It doesn't have to be a night out. It could be out for coffee or a shopping trip. Time away from everyday life is what everyone needs now and then.
My favourite thing about going out is the getting ready. Choosing what to wear, organising my make up and deciding on what to do with my hair, even though I am sure to go for the same style every time. I made up my mind on an outfit a few days before. I chose a leather skirt, a emerald crop tie top with fluted sleeves and pink Valentino style heels. (Which I regret haha).
My skirt is French Connection, my top is from Miss Selfridge and my shoes are from Next.
For my make up I kept it very simple. I used a Becca primer to create the perfect base for the rest of the products. I used my favourite Georgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation which gives your skin a flawless glow. The Rimmel London Match Perfection concealer to cover the dark circles under my eyes and the Stay Matt powder to set everything in place. For my bronzer, blush and eye shadows I used the Charlotte Tilbury palette. A thick black eyeliner, Maybelline Temptation mascara, a Mac lipstick and The Obsession make up setting spray. P.S sorry about the lazy eye in one of the photos.
Too Early?
First of all I would like to say yes we're still in August and September is normally quite good to us, but is it bad I'm looking forward to Autumn and Winter. As much as I love the sunny days and longer nights, there's nothing better than getting cosy with a hot drink. I feel as well it gives people an excuse not to go out because "it's too cold and the classic I can't be bothered".
Another reason I love this time of year is the fashion. I enjoy the warm knits, knee high boots and dresses with tights. Autumn and Winter shopping is by far my favourite. I find it easier to dress. Black skinny jeans and a chunky knit can be thrown on, on a everyday basis.
The leaves start to turn a range of beautiful colours and there's a fresh, clean smell in the air. I can pop to my nearby Starbucks and grab a caramel latte before work whilst wearing a lovely pair of chelsea boots as they make a clicking noise along the pavement. It's the simple things that make a huge difference.
There are also two major holidays during the colder months. October holds Halloween meaning you can dress up as scary as you like, take a younger family member trick or treating, decorate your home for the best Halloween party. Then December comes and the greatest holiday of all time comes along, Christmas. It's such a lovely time of year. There's pretty lights across the streets and homes feel cosy and more homely than normal.
So If like me your excited for the next couple of months get your jumpers out of hiding and slap on those gorgeous pair of boots.
My Favourite Summer Outfits
For the first time in what feels like ages, It actually rained for more than five minutes. It actually felt quite refreshing having a little bit of rubbish weather just to compensate from the lovely sunshine the UK has experienced. It actually got me quite excited for the Autumn season. But before I say goodbye to Summer just yet I thought I would go through all the wonderful outfits I have loved wearing this season.
