Monthly overview for January
I've decided to start a monthly series where I write my overview of the moth just gone. Not sure how well this will go but it's defiantly worth a shot. It will allow me to reflect on the past 30 or so days and give me the opportunity to read through all the happy moments that have occurred. Not only the delightful memories but the not so amazing moments that have also happened. I feel it's a good idea to go through those not so good times as I feel it is important to learn from those moments.
The month of January is a good place to start when reflecting on the month. For some people the first few weeks of a brand new year either start of well or don't start as smoothly as one hopped. People are under pressure to complete new years revolutions or continue their quest on a alcohol free month. The gyms are packed with motivated get goers trying to lose the Christmas weight.
The month of January felt like it went on for ever. Most monthly post start with how quickly the weeks have gone. It feels like weeks and weeks ago since I was celebrating 2018 with my friends at a 90's themed party.
The month started promising with a number of job interview opportunities but none were not quite what I was expecting. It did give me the impression that this year was the year for changes in my career. Although it hasn't happened as of yet, I know it is coming along. I also failed my driving test for a sixth time ( which I don't mind admitting). The positive thing to come out of this is that I have the chance to try again and not give up. Admitting to the failures right at the start of the year reassures others that not everyday goes according to plan and things don't always go the way their planned.
Not a lot else has happened if I am completely completely honest. There is still not for any things to happen. I have however been to my first scensery night where a representative show cases their products and you can purchase some if you wish.
I do hope everyone is off to a great in 2018. If it has not gone the way you planned, please just remember it has only just begun and there is still another eleven months to enjoy.
See you in February!
My current everyday make up look!
For today's post I decided to write about that I have been wearing on my face throughout the month of January. This is because I have been really liking the choice of products in my make up bag and thought I would share this with you.
I tend to wear more products and heavier textures in the winter. When the weather is below 10 degrees and the wind hitting your face feels like you have just been through a wind tunnel, it's nice to know at least your make up is up to scratch.
For my base I have been wearing the Loreal lumi magique primer. The light consistency gives your face that fresh glow as if you have just come in from a cold walk. It makes for a great base underneath your foundation and after your moisturiser. Speaking of foundation I have been loving another Loreal product, the infallable 24 hour matt. I don't always get on with much high street foundations but this one I really like. It gives a high coverage without looking like your face is caked in product. It gives that flawless complexion. Concealer has to be The Collection lasting perfection. I place this under my eyes to disguise my dark circles then round off with the Bourjois healthy balance powder.
Moving to eyebrows I have been using the Maybelline masta brow palette with the Sleek clear eye gel.
This next product is by far my favourite. I've never used anything from Charlotte Tilbury so I took Christmas the opportunity to try something new. The bronzer and blush from this face palette is amazing. It looks so natural but flawless at the same time. Then for mascara the trusty Mayebelline falses mascara which gives length and volume to each individual lash.
Ted Baker Beauty
Every Christmas Ted Baker comes out with some gorgeous, beautiful gifts. This year was no expectation as they released one of their best yet. I received the ultimate beauty gift set containing some amazing items which I have already used many times in the couple of weeks since beeing recipient of them. Here I thought I would write my honest opinion on these amazing beauty products.
Some people can be quite skeptical about certain brands releasing make up. With Ted Baker there is no need to be worried as I was very impressed with the quality. The one thing that caught my eye first was the beautiful rose gold packaging. It's sleek, stylish and looks so pretty with the rest of my make up collection.
The collection contained a trio eye shadow palette with a mirror inside. The colours contain neutral, pink shades perfect for everyday wear. The there is also a blush palette which has two stunning pink shades. The lighter colour is powder and the darker colour is more of a cream formula. There is also a beautiful compact mirror. There is also two nail polishes once in a blush pink and one in a deep red. There is also a eyebrow pencil which to be honest is not the right colour for my brows.
My favourite from the collection has to be the lip products. There are two barmy lip sticks which make your lips feel so moisturised and give colour at the same time. There is also a mat lipstick in a dark, pink shade. Overall the collection is utterly stunning, containing some lovely products that is perfect for a girly girl like myself. They make the perfect gift or a wonderful treat for yourself.
3 outfits on 3 occasions
During the holiday season I like to chose my outfits very carefully. Plan what I would like to see myself in on those very special occasions. The clothing items I wore on Christmas day, Boxing day and New Years Eve are not the most extravagant but represent me in a sophisticated and true way.
Christmas Day
On Christmas day I went for an outfit which was pretty but comfortable to wear. As I knew there would be a lot of food consumption I needed an outfit which was not restricting and hid my food baby. Therefore I went for this pretty, pleated, pink midi skirt. It is me in a nut shell and suits the purpose perfectly. I brought this a year and a half a go from Primark and I have worn this to death. I paired it with this lovely grey jumper from Zara that my Nan brought me for Christmas. The jumper is detailed with little pearls dotted all around. I wore this with some comfy, black boots to set the outfit off.
Boxing Day
Boxing day for me is all about being super comfy and eating all the left over food. Therefore I went for this super, cosy, oversized jumper from Matalan, paired with some black skinny jeans from French Connection.
New Years Eve
Most people on this very special day go all out for the big night ahead. Dresses are either shorter than normal and fully of glitz and glamour. I decided to go for something that was simple but effective at the same time. In my option you cannot go wrong with a jumpsuit, There comfortable and look nice at the same time. This one I brought was from a little independent store last year and fits like a glove.
