Life Update
The last few months of my life have been a complete whirlwind for many reasons. Some of them amazing and some not so good, hence why I haven't posted on here in a while.
First lets start with the positives. I've finally met someone (relationship wise) who I truly, truly care about and like very much. I never thought for one moment i would find someone like him and am so grateful to have him in my life.
The second factor is that yesterday I finally graduated with a degree in journalism. It also could not have happened on a more perfect day being the hottest day of the year.Which is very unusually for England. I worked really hard for my degree and i am extremely proud of my achievements. Unfortunately this was overshadowed by family drama that I don't want to go into as it's a whole other story. This resulted in me waking up feeling sad and hurt when i should of been feeling happy and proud of what I've done.
I wanted to share this as no one should be made to feel like this on such a special occasion. It should be a time to celebrate all the hard work that has been achieved surrounded my family, friends and loved ones. Instead i was in tears and filled with hurt.
If there are people in your life that make you feel like this, then you need get yourself out of that situation and surround yourself with people who will provide you with happiness and love, not hurt or sadness.
Welcome to New York
Sitting here as i type this post from bedroom it is pouring it down with rain. And when i say pouring i mean literally causing a swimming pool to be created in the garden. Watching the water fall down hard onto the ground makes me wanna be back in sunny, warm New York, where the comforting feel hits my back as i stand in the middle of Times Square taking in the glorious atmosphere of enormous buildings covered in large screens of advertisement from high profile brands.
Just like myself the streets are filled with tourist from all over the world attempting to take selfies with their extending selfie sticks as the aroma of warm hot dogs fill the air from the van in the corner of the street. Adults dressed as children's characters from Disney films approach each person that comes their way asking for photos, while shoppers carrying their goods steer to avoid. Speaking of shopping which i did plenty off felt like no other feeling. I almost convinced myself i was Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City as i made the biggest purchase of my life. That purchase was an item I've wanted for a long and i never thought i'd be able to get it was the medium Lily Mulberry bag. The way it stood perfectly on the stand and the gold hard hard glistening in the light spoke out to me and i could not say no. I walked down 5th Avenue bag in hand with the biggest smile on my face.
Along 5th Avenue high in the skyline was the tallest building i have ever since. That building was the Empire state standing tall among st the rest shine in the warm sunshine. Me and my mum decided we had to see the views from the very top and made our way right up to the 86th floor. The views from the very top were completely amazing you can literally see the whole of New York.
My time in New York sadly came to an end but left with some amazing memories that i will never forget. At some point in my life i will defiantly want to return to the great city that never sleeps and recommended anyone who is thinking of making that amazing trip.
NO.21
As I type this blog post it will be exactly one weeks in till I am twenty-one years-old. Even saying that to myself is absolutely mad. But it is true and coming up very soon. It's a milestone in everyone's life to show that you are now a proper adult with a job and things to pay for. I wonder why they call it a milestone? Like we need to celebrate getting it this far in to our lives it's an achievement in itself.
Turning twenty-one means a number of things: 1- you're into the second year of your twenties, 2-you can legally drink alcohol in America and 3-you have freedom. Back in say the 1950's most women in their twenties had settled down, married and become a full town housewife. But now to be in your twenties in 2016 means enjoying every bit of freedom you have in your life. You can travel the world and experience life changing moments that you don't get when your married with children. Not that there's anything wrong with that. For me I will be celebrating my twenty-first with a joint party with my friend who is also turning twenty-one and a very exciting trip to New York city.
In celebration of turning this amazing age I've decided to wrote a post celebrating what was happening in the world twenty-one years ago in terms of music, fashion and sport.
Music in the 90's was all about the brit pop battle between Oasis and Blur as they fought the charts for that very important number 1. It wasn't just cool, indi bands making headlines but a girl group that go buy the name of The Spice Girls. With their individual styles and personality they brought a whole to world to the music industry.
In my opinion fashion in the 90's was brilliant. It allowed all people of any background to dress exactly how they want. Even to this day the same trends are all the range including; crop tops, denim and slip dresses.
Football had moved on from the hooligan days of rival teams in the late 70's and 80's creating a more safer, friendlier environment. Everton won the FA cup against Man u and Blackburn rovers won the premier league.
Rosie Huntington- Whitley autograph make up range
It's been a while since I've written a blog post and I apologise for being away for so long. So much has happened in the last few months that it would take me all day to tell you. In a nut shell I've just started a new job and I finish university very soon and have a lot of work to complete.
For this reason I thought I would start off with something fun, and easy going with a couple of new makeup purchases I recently brought. It's part of a range I've wanted to try since it came out in Marks and Spencer's, and that is the Rosie Huntington-Whitley makeup range for Autograph. There is a large selection and out of the range I chose the bronzer and crème blush in the shade camisole.
The first thing that caught my eye more than the product itself was the packaging. It's in this gorgeous rose gold, metal light packaging that reflects the light so nicely. Their in a compact size enough for you to travel with or to keep in your bag for touch ups. For a high street brand their a really great quality and feel more expensive than they actually are. Most of the compact products have a mirror inside making it a multi purpose product.
Starting with the bronzer I made the mistake of putting too much on my brush so ended up with a large brown smudge across my check so you only need the smallest amount. For my skin tone it's perfect but for someone with a paler complexion may found it too orange and dark. It just adds a nice, natural, warm glow to the face.
The shade of the crème blush is a very different colour to one I would usually go for but I really like how it looks on my skin. The texture as the name suggest is very crèmey and feels really soft on the skin. The shade is perfect if your going for a golden, bronze look. Again you only need a small amount and I use my fingers to apply and blend with the fingers also.
Overall I would really recommended these products. Their great value of money and excellent quality and I will defiantly be trying more of her range in the future.

Best of the Brits
Without a doubt the Brit awards is my favourite award show to watch on the TV. Every year I wake up with excitement knowing that the best show on TV is about to go live. It's full of the best music artist in Britain with an added extra of controversy and drunken celebrities.
In case you don't know the Brit awards is an awards ceremony that takes place every year celebrating the best of British music and live gigs. They started back in 1977 and have been going on ever since. The Brit awards are best known for it's anything can happen moments with the mixture of rock star band members and huge amounts of alcohol, making it one of the most watched ceremony's in the UK.
Yesterday was no different as the o2 arena pulled out it's red carpet to hand out the awards the stars have made an appearance for. To celebrate the best ceremony in the world I thought it would be a good idea to count down the best moments from the Brit awards 2016.
1- James Bay and Justin Bieber! These two could not be anymore different if they tried and yet with the Brit awards anything can happen. The Canadian born pop star teamed up with British, singer, songwriter James Bay to pull of one of my favourite performances from the night. The two sat on stage in front of a camp fire with James playing the guitar to Love Yourself, while Justin sang the lyrics. Justin then mashed the song by breaking out to sing sorry with a ring of fire around him.
2-One half of 1D. Ever since coming third on the X Factor, One Direction have always made an effort to attended the Brits as their nominated every year. But this year only two of the four members showed up which was Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne. Despite being on their hiatus the band took home best video making it their sixth Brit award.
3- Adele bringing girl power! It was pretty obvious that Adele was going to do well that nigh winning four awards but it was her speech during one of her acceptations that got us all talking. She took the opportunity to publically announce she was supporting American singer Kesha.
4-David Bowie tribute. Earlier in the year music and fashion icon David Bowie sadly passed away due to cancer. Therefore tributes was made by Annie Lennox and Gary Colman as they both produced a heart whelming speech to show their love and sadness for the great lost. This was followed by a beautiful performance from Lorde who sang is hit life on mars.
5- Little Mix put on a show. Another act produced from the X Factor that put on a show we will always remember. The girls put on an amazing performance that was full of energy and amazing dancing. By far one of the best performances from the night.
These five moments were by far the best from the night, below is a list of all the winners.
Best British female solo artist- Adele
Best British Male solo artist- James Bay
Best British band- Coldplay
British breakthrough act- Catfish and the Bottlemen
MasterCard album of the year- Adele 25
Best British single- Adele Hello

Fashion changes
Throughout my life the clothes I wear and my personal style has changed so much you wouldn't think it would be possible to have such different taste in clothing. When I was a baby my mum and dad dressed me (obviously) and they couldn't have dressed me any different. My mum would dress me in cute, pretty, pink clothing items that would make any person go awww. Then my dad on the other hand at the age of four dressed me in double denim, an Arsenal shirt and trainers. To be fair it was the nineties and all the cool kids were dressing the same.
Then when I got to my teenage years I do not know what I was thinking. Especially in the early part of being a teenager I remember wearing a floral dungarees dress that sounds nice but in pictures it looked anything but. I have no idea where my inspiration to dress came from, I think I just saw what I liked in a shop and went with it. I had no idea how to wear certain clothing items, how to accessories and what suited my body shape. I don't know if it was just me or if most people my age done this but for some reason I was obsessed with wearing denim shorts with a top tucked in. I mean what was I thinking?
Then when I got to eighteen I discovered YouTube and it changed the way I dress and were I shop forever. From their advice and guidance I learnt how to dress for various occasions and events. They inspired me to dress in a sophisticate and appropriate way for age.
YouTube isn't the only thing that has inspired my fashion sense, TV has also contributed to my sense of style and what I wear. One programme in particular has had a huge influence in the clothes I have chosen to wear and that is American, teen drama Gossip Girl. I loved the glamour and sophistication around the New York scene and the way they presented themselves. TV has such a huge influence on what the public are wearing it allows them huge power.
I would love to know what has influenced your fashion sense whenever that's from a TV programme or someone you saw out on the streets.
Job interview tips
Leading on from my previous post entitled "The Next Chapter", I am pleased to announced that I got called back for a second interview. I am so surprised and pleased that I am getting this opportunity to start a career for myself and to be in a place where I can work in a surrounding I am truly passionate about. It just goes to show that if you want something you go and get it. Don't let anyone tell you, you can not do it because if you believe in yourself you can achieve anything you desire to. That is why I have put together a few tips on how to have a successful job interview based on the experiences I had with mine.
1- Dress to impress. I know the way someone looks or how someone dresses shouldn't be taken into account when addressing someone's intellectual qualities but when you go for a job interview the first thing they see before you have even said anything is what your wearing and how you present yourself. Wearing an outfit that looks smart, appropriate but classy and trendy at the same time says that your ready to work as hard as you can and have impeccable taste in clothing.
2- Be polite and shake hands with the interviewer. This may sound like something quite obvious and simple but doing these small but noticeable gestures can make a really good impression and shows that you have the skills to work with customers and other people you come across in your working days.
3-Make yourself interested in the company you are working for. When the person interviewing you is talking about the company you may be working for it's important that you have an interesting expression on your face. Smile and nod politely because if your sitting there looking bored then they will think you have no interest in the job at all and they need someone who is as passionate about the company than they are.
4-Do your research. When your preparing for your interview it's so important that you research the company and the job your applying for like the back of your hand. Just simple things like what their objective is, when they started and what duties your job role entitles. If your asked a question about them and you stare blankly it doesn't look good.
5- Last but on least be confident. I know it's hard to be nervous but if you can put all that behind and go in there like you know exactly what your doing you will blaze it. And just remember it's not the end of the world if it doesn't go well. There are many more opportunities out there for you to take and grab.
I hope these few tips will helped if you have an interview coming up soon or in the possible future.
